Have a Safe and Happy Holidays....

Production Songs - each child in our class has been given a copy of the welcome song, finale song and the shoemaker and elves song to learn over the holidays. Please ensure your child reads these songs on a regular basis. The tunes are unfamiliar at the moment but we need to learn the words. By the time the production is on (approx week 5, term 4) they need to be known off by heart.

Reading Sheet - A reading sheet has been sent home to record your child's reading during the holiday break. I would like ALL children to participate in this activity. There are prizes to the child/ren who read the most during the holidays including chocolate bars and an i-pod shuffle (hope I've got the name right). There is also a prize for the class who has the highest percentage of readers. It would be awesome for Room 11 to win this! For the children that did not get one today (the wrong amount was sent to our classroom), I have posted one to you.

Head Lice (Nits) - there has been a case reported in our class. COULD  EVERYONE  PLEASE  CHECK  THEIR  CHILD'S  HAIR  &  TREAT  YOUR  CHILD'S  HAIR  IF  NEEDED. This is also a good time to remind the girls in our class that if your hair is touching your shoulders or longer it needs to be tied up each day AND stay tied up during the day at school.

Summer Uniform - full summer uniform is expected from Day 1 in Term 4.

Week 10

CONGRATULATIONS!! To everyone who participated in our poetry recital. You were fantastic speakers and a great audience. For the children who were away - your recital will be on Friday morning.

Calendar Art - This is our main focus this week. Room 11 have voted and we are "painting like an artist". Our artist is Vincent Van Gogh. The artwork we are doing is "Stary Night". They are going to look AMAZING when we are done! Order forms went home last week. Artwork will be on display in class next week - come on in and take a look.

Golden Time - This week is Costumes/Dress Ups as we missed last Friday with the Teacher Only Day.

Sunday 9 September 2012

Week 9 - Here's what's happening

Poetry recital - Thursday morning from 9am. Family and friends are welcome to come along. No set schedule as yet. If you need a specific time due to work or other commitments, please let me know so I can do my best to have your child saying their poem when you are with us.

Homework - no worksheet this week. Homework is to make sure they practise their one poem from the orange booklet that they will be reciting on Thursday.

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until the end of the term - the first bell will go at 8:40. ALL children need to be in class by 8:45 to head straight to the hall for production singing practise. Please ensure your child is at school before 8:45 so they have time to get ready for their day.

Friday - Teacher Only Day = NO SCHOOL.
