We would love see you there :)

A few reminders

Scholastic Book Orders - Due Friday 2nd November.

T-shirt orders - If your child is part of the speech choir (only 2 in our class) they must have a t-shirt. The order form and payment is due Friday 2nd November. All other children (unless they have main parts) are required to wear their school uniform for the production. T-shirt purchases are optional for all other children.

Cake Stall - This Thursday at morning tea time. Everything is either 50c or $1. This is a fundraiser for the year 5/6 camps.

Reading - This week everyone in the class has received a copy of The Elves and The Shoemaker song. Both sides need to be read (and sung where possible) and recited each night please. This song is part of the production and it needs to be learned off by heart. Room 11 are doing a fantastic job with their production singing practises in class.

If your child is unable to attend you need to address a letter to Mr Macmillan explaining why. There will be one matinee performance and two evening performances. Week 2 - Term 4

WOW! what a windy start to the term. It was great to see everyone back at school and to hear all their holiday news.

SWIMMING - NO swimming this week. Our swimming weeks this term are the odd weeks (1, 3, 5, 7, 9). I will remind the children each Friday when our swimming is an update it on the blog too. Children need togs, towel and a plastic bag each day when we are swimming.

HATS - these are compulsory EVERY DAY this term. NO HAT = NO PLAY. Please ensure you're child has their hat everyday.

UNIFORM - full summer uniform is expected to be worn from this week. Thank you to all those children who were in their correct uniform last week. Please NAME every piece of your child's uniform - there are around 100 students wearing the same sizes. Please also make sure your child's jumper is in their bag - especially for the chilly mornings and the wind.

A Library book has gone missing in our room. I have been hunting the classroom - and will continue hunting. Can you please also have a hunt at home and if you find it bring it back - no questions asked. It is called - I am not sleepy and I will not go to bed. It is a Charlie and Lola book. Many thanks.

Friday 28 September 2012

Have a Safe and Happy Holidays....

Production Songs - each child in our class has been given a copy of the welcome song, finale song and the shoemaker and elves song to learn over the holidays. Please ensure your child reads these songs on a regular basis. The tunes are unfamiliar at the moment but we need to learn the words. By the time the production is on (approx week 5, term 4) they need to be known off by heart.

Reading Sheet - A reading sheet has been sent home to record your child's reading during the holiday break. I would like ALL children to participate in this activity. There are prizes to the child/ren who read the most during the holidays including chocolate bars and an i-pod shuffle (hope I've got the name right). There is also a prize for the class who has the highest percentage of readers. It would be awesome for Room 11 to win this! For the children that did not get one today (the wrong amount was sent to our classroom), I have posted one to you.

Head Lice (Nits) - there has been a case reported in our class. COULD  EVERYONE  PLEASE  CHECK  THEIR  CHILD'S  HAIR  &  TREAT  YOUR  CHILD'S  HAIR  IF  NEEDED. This is also a good time to remind the girls in our class that if your hair is touching your shoulders or longer it needs to be tied up each day AND stay tied up during the day at school.

Summer Uniform - full summer uniform is expected from Day 1 in Term 4.

Move It - what an awesome time we are having at Move It. Lexi's dad is also having a great time - thank you so much for your help :) It was great to see more of you in your P.E. gear. Let's see if we can get the whole class in their P.E. gear this week! Enjoy the photos on the blog of Room 11 in action - they are pretty cool!

Sunday 29 July 2012

What's On This Week

Monday - Library Day and News Sharing Day

Wednesday - Assembly is now in the afternoons after our school singing practise.  Mrs Young will also be in our class on Wednesday mornings for the next three weeks teaching music.

Friday - Bring P.E. gear. For the next five weeks we have the "Move It" programme running for the juniors. There are multiple activities for the children to do and they need to be in their P.E. gear to do these with greater ease. Black shorts and a blue top is the P.E. uniform. Blue monogrammed tops are available in the uniform shop. If you don't currently have a blue top, a top in your child's house colour is fine.

R.E. Workbooks - Please bring these in so we can start putting in the work for the current strand - Sacrament.  Remember to complete the parent comment box and the prayer.  The prayers will be made into individual prayers, to go on our altar, for the children to read at our morning prayer time.  They get to illustrate their prayer, it is laminated and named, and at the end of the year they will get to bring them home.

THANK  YOU  :)  to all those parents who came in for parent interviews last week.  It was wonderful to see you.  A copy of the goals and notes we discussed will be given to you this week.
